Your papa and I have always seen you as both a daring and a sweet little girl. Even your Ama and Angkong who were only here for three weeks were so amazed by your no fear attempts to perform several tasks that were presented to you. And of course, your sweetness melted their hearts. It melts ours every passing day sweetie.
CLIMBING THE BAR
We realized that your DARING trait could have come from your 1st 7 days spent in the hospital, which were hourly dose of injections due to tests and medication. And of course, you bravely faced your 3 major surgeries in the 1st 10 months of your life. Thank God for his protection that was ever available… Because of those experiences, we believe it made your brave enough to face life. Facing those kinds of pain at a very tender age made you aware that life isn’t easy and you really had to fight to survive. You are a fighter my dear.
COMPETING WITH AHIA
Now for the SWEET side of you… Aside from the fact that you’ve learned from the sweetest mom (ehem, ehem), I believe it’s also because of the love and care you’ve received from people like Ama, Angkong and other family and friends who showered you with so much. Although we miss most of them now that we’re far away from them, God has provided us with friends who have helped us shower you and your ahia love and affection.
You like it very much when you ahia popo’s you… Then he’ll end up saying, ” You’re so heavy Mei.”
with ate Asley
That’s ate Asley, she’s 11… They only came here to visit but you both had a wonderful time when we went shopping. She carried you and played with you so I can fit my clothes 🙂 She got really tired that even if she doesn’t take afternoon naps, she did that day! 🙂
So there you go my little one… I pray that you’ll always remain to be brave (daring) and sweet as you grow one day at a time.
I love you sweetheart!
Your birthday month is April so for your 2-year old birthday, we decided to have a month long celebration which covered all the weekends of the month. Each weekend we had some fun activities or trips as you like going out very much! You would often ask us to “GO OUTSIDE”. You like the ourdoors very much. Here are some of the places that we visited.
Peach Flower Garden
I’ll post your other photos next time because you’re already calling me to go outside and watch your favorite – Barbie. This time it’s Barbie Mariposa we’re watching. It’s the 10th DVD of your 18 DVDs Barbie Collection. Will blog about this next time.
Last Jan. 31, 2010 you joined the Me and My Doll contest at the Robinsons Place Bacolod. The requirement was for each child to wear costumes of their favorite character – a doll or a superhero. Most of the girls were Princesses from different movies while most of the boys were action figures. Here you are together with the other contestants while waiting for the contest to start.

Here are the Princesses in their lovely pink gowns.

And of course, here you are my SPIDER BOY… And I think you should know this, YOU WON FIRST PLACE! haha… Just take a look at your picture and you’ll probably know why the judges thought you deserved to win. It brings a smile to my face looking at you son.
It was actually your first time to join in a contest and glad you won. You didn’t have the most expensive costume. Infact, your spiderman toy only cost me P20! But you made it to the top because you were confidently showed them what spider man did, including the expression of your face! The host even said something like: WHOA! I’m so proud of you Peter Parker… ooops, I’m so proud of you Elisha!
Dear Elisha and Meimei,
Meimei, this picture was taken on my 31st birthday last 2008. You’re 4 months in my tummy so this is my first birthday with you if I may say, hihi. And of course, I’m wearing my favorite color 🙂
Purple @ 31
And look at you EJ… you and papa gave me what we call the samwits kiss… Oh how I love this happy family kiss that we always share, usually at bedtime but done anytime we feel like it 🙂 We each take turn to be in the middle and it’s so much fun doing it that you sometimes would like to have 2 turns 🙂
Happy Family Samwits Kiss
And since we were in China at that time, we just had a simple celebration with our “family” away from home – Auntie Imee, Auntie Cathy and Uncle Jon. Auntie Cindy wasn’t able to come so we missed her that night. These friends have been with us through our toughest times and because of them, life in a foreign land became more beautiful. I miss them very much.
EJ, they all love you… Mei, auntie Cathy is your ninang 🙂 So kikay and inta just like your mama, hihi.
My entry for:
Dear Ahia and Meimei,
Your a-em started a “meme” (hihi, it’s a blogging term) and I’m joining it… It’s called LOVING MAMA MOMENTs. So for my 1st entry, I am writing you about our tickle time. It’s that 5-10 minutes a day that’s dedicated to tickling each other. I tickle you and you get to tickle me as well… It’s so much fun! There are even times that you’re the ones who initiate the tickling and tell me, “MAMA, TICKLE TIME!” This is enough proof that you love it as much as I do 🙂
Usually, we tickle the neck, the “kili-kili” and ears. You’re both very ticklish so as long as you’re already laughing, almost anywhere I touch you, you giggle, scream and burst in laughter. No matter what the day brings, I always make sure we have our tickle time before we hug and kiss goodnight. So here you are in one of our tickle times 🙂

Oh, by the way, sometimes, papa joins the tickle fun too ;-D
This is my first time to join PINK FRIDAYs and for my 1st entry, I’m posting your pictorial when you turned 2 years old… I would want to expose you to other colors, specifically purple (as it is my favorite color), but then, most baby girl stuff given to you and on sale are all in PINK! So right now, your favorite color is also pink 😀 Whatever color you like is fine with me because I think as long as you wear that pretty smile on your face, you’ll always look beautiful sweetypie 🙂 Together with this pink dress, you also had green bunny costume and your floral dress for our family picture. But since it’s PINK FRIDAY entry, I’ll just post you in your pink dress in this letter. You look lovely my dear.
Your papa and I started this traditional studio pictorial when your ahia turned 2 years old here in China. We always start with the family photo followed by the costumes pictorial. We hope to go on with this for as long as we have the resources to do so. When you’re all grown, you can look back and see how your faces have changed over the years. You can also follow this when you both have your little ones as well. 🙂
